Using optimized file comparison techniques only files or portions of files which have changed need to be transfered though the network, saving server resources, time, and network bandwidth. In addition optional on the fly compression of the data stream can further reduce network bandwidth usage.

Encryption (AES) is available for most stored data, including off site backups, on site backups, data vaults, and live data. SSH is used to create a tunnel so data is encrypted during transit. An additional wrapper of security is available by augmenting SSH with IPsec.
